The Westchester County Archives and Records Center is located at 2199 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford, NY 10523. We have directions by car, train, and bus. The Archives offices are open:
- Monday through Friday, except government holidays
- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Archives is handicapped accessible. Parking is free.
Also located at our facility in Elmsford are the Westchester County Historical Society, whose collections are also available in the Archives Reading Room, and the Greater Hudson Heritage Network.
Reading Room: The Archives Reading Room is open to the public by appointment only. If you do not have an appointment confirmation you will not be able to visit the Archives Reading Room. If you are planning a trip to the Archives, we suggest that you call or e-mail first to confirm the hours. A photo I.D. must be presented when registering to do research in the Reading Room.
Please note: Starting the week of January 6th, 2025, the Archives Reading Room will be open Tuesdays & Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with no appointment necessary. We do still strongly encourage anyone thinking of visiting to contact us at Archives Reference Desk ahead of time with your planned visit date what you are interested in researching.
County Employee: For departmental research requests, Westchester County employees should call us at (914) 231-1500 for an appointment.

There are no food service facilities available at the Archives, but many reasonably priced delis and restaurants are within easy access by car or bus.
